To ensure proper credit: Please include the correct payment amount along with the payment stub(s) from your tax bill(s). One check may be written for multiple tax bills. All checks are to be payable to “Town of Georgetown”. Be careful that your check has the amount written out IN WORDS correctly – the way you have it written out IN WORDS is the amount the check can be cashed for. If an escrow check is payable to BOTH yourself and Town of Georgetown, YOU MUST ENDORSE THE CHECK. Also, if an escrow check is made payable to you alone, YOU MUST ENDORSE THE CHECK. If purchasing a dog license, that payment can be included in/with your check for taxes, but you must include all dog license information and proof of vaccination.
Tax Payments MUST BE mailed or paid in person ONLY. The clerk will not be accepting any payments. NO EXCEPTIONS.

(Real estate tax payments mailed after January 31, 2023, are to be paid and sent to Polk County Treasurer.) Georgetown Treasurer number: 715-564-9987 –call or TEXT. If you wish to receive a RECEIPT please be sure to enclose a BUSINESS SIZE, STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE with your tax payment. A limited number of Tax Roll Booklets (150) will be available at the townhall ONLY on a first come first serve basis starting January 20, 2025. NO TAX BOOKLETS WILL BE MAILED.

- Saturday, December 28, 2024, 10am-12pm
- Saturday, January 25, 2025, 10-12pm
- Saturday, January 11, 2025, 10-12pm

Dog Licenses: Dog License fees are $8.00 for each unspayed or unneutered male or female. $3.00 for each spayed or neutered male or female. A multiple dog license for 12 dogs or less is $35.00. ALL DOG LICENSES REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINATION. The license also needs the name of dog, breed and color. You MUST include the parcel ID number of your house and a contact phone number for the County’s records.

Fire Permits are available through your local fire departments. Contact your local fire official to obtain a permit. East of County Road I is with the Apple River Fire Department and West of County Road I is with the Milltown Fire Department.
Recycling Bins are usually at the Town Hall on the 2nd and 4th Friday and Saturday of each month. They may be used whenever the bins are present there.
Board Meetings for the Town of Georgetown are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. Please contact the Town Clerk if you would like to be included on the agenda.
