THERE ARE NEW CHANGES IN TAX PAYMENTS AND PET LICENSES
TAX PAYMENTS:
Property tax payments can now be paid online using credit card, debit card, and e-check
- Go to https://www.polkcountywi.gov/government/elected_officials/treasurer/pay_taxes_online.php
- Sign in as “guest”
- Look up your Parcel(s) follow prompts to choose
- Follow the prompts to pay
****CREDIT CARD & DEBIT CARD convenience fee of 2.99% on the total amount will be charged****
****E-CHECK fee of $1.50 covers up to 10 parcels****
Property tax payments if you choose to WRITE A CHECK please do the following:
- One check may be written for multiple tax bills
- If multiple people are paying for a parcel(s), each person paying must clearly specify the parcel(s) the money is to be applied to.
- Checks are payable to “Town of Georgetown”
- Double check that the written amount in words matches the amount in numbers.
- Please include the payment stub(s) with your payment
- If you wish to receive a RECEIPT, please be sure to enclose a BUSINESS SIZE, STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED
ENVELOPE with your tax payment.**********ESCROW check payable to you and Town of Georgetown, please endorse the check.
**********ESCROW check payable to you alone, please endorse the check If you want property taxes to be recorded as paid in 2025, then the payment must be received and processed by the treasurer on or before December 31, 2025. The Federal IRS will recognize a postmark dated 12/31/25 but you would need proof of that post mark date should the IRS question it.
Tax Payments MUST BE made ONLINE, mailed or paid in person ONLY. The clerk will not be accepting any payments. NO EXCEPTIONS.
*****Note: We have been experiencing that the mail system has not been reliable. Our office has been receiving mail up to a few weeks late regardless of where the mail is coming from. The best ways to ensure payment has been received are to either mail payment by:
- certified mail by USPS (>= $6.00)
- UPS or FedEx

IN PERSON TAX PAYMENT AT THE TOWNHALL:
- Saturday, December 27, 2025, 10am-12pm
- Saturday, January 17, 2026, 10am-12pm
Tax Roll Information: All property tax information is posted on the Polk County website at
https://www.polkcountywi.gov/government/elected_officials/treasurer/property_tax_search.php.
*Please note: No tax roll booklets are being printed as all the information is available online.
All Property tax payments mailed after January 31, 2026, are to be paid and sent to Polk County Treasurer.
Address Changes:
All address changes must be made by yourself online or by contacting Polk Country Treasurer’s office directly. Towns do not have the ability to make those changes any longer.
DOG LICENSES
Dog license fees are as follows: Spay/Neutered = $5.00/dog. Intact = $10.00/dog. Kennel (up to 12 dogs) =$45.00
- Payments must be check (made out to “Town of Georgetown”) or cash.
- A separate payment from your tax payment is preferred.
- Please include all dog license information (name, breed, color and proof of vaccination.)
- Please include parcel ID# of your house and phone #
**In order to receive your tag(s) and license receipt you must enclose a BUSINESS SIZE, STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE with your dog license payment.**
